In our region are a number of interesting destinations within a short drive:

Pilgrimage church of Maria Kirchental in St. Martin bei Lofer

The Sanctuary was built according to plans of the Baroque architect Johann Bernhard Fischer von Erlach. Its simplicity and artistic beauty fits perfectly in the lofty mountains around it. Meanwhile Maria Kirchental is a popular place of pilgrimage and is known also as the "Pinzgauer Dom”, the cathedral of Pinzgau. On a church tour you can admire the donations in the treasure chamber, and the most valuable Votive Collection in Austria.

Saalachtaler forces of nature

Within a radius of two kilometers the Salzburg Saalachtal hides three exceptional natural sites. At the foot of the Loferer and Leoganger Steinberge nature has shaped bizarre rocks by roaring water cascades and formed one of the largest cave systems in Europe. All three natural monuments can easily reached by bus.

Vorderkaserklamm
A huge gorge, which has been made accessible via a total of 51 bridges and 35 platforms. Before reaching the entrance of the gorge, you walk through a natural recreation area with natural bathing pools along the course of Schüttachgarben.

Lamprechtshöhle
With a total length of 35 km it is the largest cave with water passing through in Europe. About 600 m has been made accessible to visitors, where you will enjoy magnificent views of the well-lit caves.

Seisenbergklamm
The natural monument Seisenbergklamm is some 12,000 years old, during that time the canyon creek milled deeply into the rock . This beautiful gorge with its crystal blue water has been made accessible via bridges and stairs for vistors. Following this, we recommend a pleasant easy hike to the Lohfeyer inn, which is located in a quiet valley above. It is accessible for buses, so guests can be collected from there.
