With a rich history and such a favourable setting, Lofer & its environs have countless sights in store for visitors.
Follow in the footsteps of woodcutters of old – making your way along their old pathway from the Devil’s Gorge towards Unken. Or explore the ruins of the fortress on Pass Strub. You will also find a beautiful piece of history in the heart of Lofer itself: the Gothic parish church impresses visitors with frescoes dating all the way back to the 15th century.
And if you are a person who prefer to roam even further afield, we would definitely recommend you take a trip to the baroque “City of Mozart”, Salzburg. Not without reason was it added to the World Cultural Heritage List in 1996. Or perhaps you might prefer to venture forth to the so-called "Holy Land" of Tyrol, located just a few kilometres from Lofer.
