Traditional European medicine - in short TEH 

includes what the Saalachtaler have known for centuries. Recipes for home made remedies have been handed down over generations and have always been used. Medicinal plants, resins and other valuable ingredients that nature provides are made into ointments, liniments, baths, incense, teas and much more. Wild Herb Walk

A trail through the diversity of Sonnberg in Unken with stories and examples. Eg. Herbal vinegar extract: a cold, non-alcoholic plant extract that is very long-lasting and has a cleaning effect on skin and mucous membranes.

“Kneipp”

In a creek Father Kneipp shaped the European Traditional Medicine. Taking a “Kneipp” cure in the Unkenbach among unspoiled nature, shows us that healing is possible everywhere. Tea from fresh mountain herbs: wild mountain herbs are collected for the tea and infused resulting in a fragrant aroma. Ointment: An individually mixed plant extract from a selection of herbs feels pleasant when rubbed on the skin. Natural bathing beauty: particularly aromatic herbal baths can be prepared from natural ingredients.

Tincture

Tincture is an alcoholic plant extract. Many effective herbal combinations and numerous applications are available for you. They are easy to prepare and long lasting The Räuchernacht. This “night of incense” is particularly popular. Native herbs and resins supply surprising flavours and effects when they fill the vaulted cellar of the Lutz farm with smoke. Pechsalben cooking: tart and spicy, it is the most important medicinal ointment made in the Alps. Those who happen to try it will not want to live without it.
