Hirschbichl

A Journey Back in Time

Hirschbichl in Weißbach doesn't just offer sporting fun but also takes you back in time.

The mountain plateau is situated at 1183 metres above sea level and connects the Naturpark Weißbach with the Nationalpark Berchtesgaden. At the Hirschbichl Pass there is a custom's house from time gone by as well as a chapel for prayer. The road is only accessible to authorized vehicles and the AlmErlebnis Bus. The hiking bus transports you along the old mountain pass road to Hintersee (Berchtesgaden).

Sporting Pleasure

Grab your e-mountain bike or lace-up your hiking books and explore the Naturpark Weißbach. Alms and summits await discovery. The Litzlalm or the Kallbrunnalm are enticing places for refreshments or a short stop. The Dießbach Reservoir is a real highlight.

An Alpine Guesthouse with History

Several smuggler stories from the salt trade of the 16th and 17th centuries are still handed-down today. The guesthouse exists today thanks to the smugglers. The mule track was highly contested in those days and after occupation by Bavaria and France at the beginning of the 19th century, the house was completely destroyed. Visit this historical treasure and let the locals there tell you more exciting stories.

Stay Overnight in Pristine Nature

The mountain hostel of the Hirschbichl Alpine Guesthouse offers rooms and dormitories with breakfast from May to October. In addition, there is a children's play area, table-tennis, a rustic fireplace and a barbecue.

A Special Stage for Events

This delightful top spot is used by the Naturpark Weißbach for various events.
