Just a few metres away from the downhill piste of the Schwarzeck lift,
, there is a striking vantage point where an unbelievable all-round view opens up. When you leave the 8-person chairlift of the Schwarzeck lift and take the piste on the right to the Kechtalm, you can already catch a glimpse of this
in the distance. With a little momentum, you ski left above the Kechtalm from the piste into flat terrain and find your way through deep snow to this beautifully situated place.
Two sunny benches on the perimeter fence surrounding the cross invite you to sit down and spend some time here. In the range of vision
swing happily by and the lone cheesemakers' huts of the Almenwelt Lofer nestle into the snowy slopes. This top spot is also a very popular destination for many
who climb up here via Soder-Vocken with skins on their skis. After a short rest they joyfully carve their turns over the untouched slopes.
The view into the distance here is enormous: on one side you can see as far as Chiemsee; between craggy rock formations you catch a glimpse of the city of Salzburg; to the south you can see the Hohe Tauern and the prominent “nose“ of the Grubhörndl laughs down on you. You simply cannot get enough of the view here! Should you have had enough of the silent isolation of this top spot, ascend a few metres to the Kechtalm and visit the hosts Hannelore and Günther Flatscher for one of their typical regional specialities or cross over to the piste again and continue your ski day on the perfectly prepared pistes of the Almenwelt Lofer.
