They are among the most magnificent rock formations in the Alps, but demand a great deal of physical fitness, as 1,200 to 1,900 metres of altitude have to be conquered to reach the summits. The highest peak on the Stoaberg is the Gro\u00dfe Ochsenhorn at 2,513m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"die-schmidt-zabierow-hutte\">The Schmidt-Zabierow Hut<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Die Schmidt-Zabierow H\u00fctte auf 1966m ist die einzige Schutzh\u00fctte in den Loferer Steinbergen. Man erreicht sie vom Loferer Hochtal aus in einer Gehzeit von ca. 3&nbsp;Stunden. Der Pfad ist gut begehbar, Ausdauer sollte man aber mitbringen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div style=\"height:20px\" aria-hidden=\"true\" class=\"wp-block-spacer\"><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"bergtouren-von-der-schmidt-zabierow-hutte\">Mountain tours starting from the Schmidt-Zabierow H\u00fctte<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you choose the Schmidt-Zabierow H\u00fctte as your base camp, the surrounding mountain peaks can each be reached in about 2.5-3 hours walking time. For example, the Hinterhorn at 2,506 metres or the highest peak, the Ochsenhorn at 2,513 metres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><br><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lofer.com\/en\/things-to-do-in-summer\/climbing\/via-ferratas\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"9041\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Via ferrata<\/a><\/strong> enthusiasts will find a via ferrata school five minutes&#8217; walk below the hut to prepare for the Nackter Hund and Wilder Hund via ferrata routes.
