The Red Marble Lake

The Red Marble Lake lies at an altitude of 1600 metres at the Schönbühel in the Almenwelt Lofer and is an extraordinary top spot. It’s an amazing resting place for taking a break and lingering during a hike or an E-Bike tour. The passing hikers and e-mountain bikers can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view at the 1747 meter high Grubhörndl and in the Almenwelt Lofer.
How to reach the Marble Lake?
On Foot
- On foot you can discover the Marble Lake hiking along the Marble Lake tour (Hiking trail with the red marble stones, around 2,5 hours)
- Starting point: Top station Almbahn II in the Almenwelt Lofer, when driving by car you can park at the Haus Schönblick
- Suitable for families, not accessible for baby carriages
By E-Bike
- If you are on your e-bike you can reach the Lake via the bike path Schönbühel or over an 3 hours tour from Unken via the Unkenberg and Liedersberg, the Unkenberger Mähder and the Schwarzeck
