Fort Kniepass is an excursion destination in the Salzburger Saalachtal valley that is open all year round. It combines an interactive adventure trail with twelve play stations on the theme of ‘boundaries’ and the longest dry tube slide in western Austria: 150 metres long, 55 metres in altitude and up to 35 km/h fast.
There is also an open-air arena, guided tours, regional cuisine, free parking and good accessibility.
Please note: Fort Kniepass will open its doors to visitors from Saturday, 28 June 2025.

Catering:
The modern visitor centre at the foot of the fortress has a catering area with around 80 seats inside, a take-away area and a large indoor play area for families and groups of children. In fine weather, the shady garden invites you to linger. The culinary offering showcases the diversity of regional cuisine.
Good to know:
Dogs: Allowed on a lead, not in the team house or on guided tours. No charge.
Pushchairs: Ascent via forest road possible. Not suitable inside the fort.
Accessibility: Restaurant is barrier-free. The fortress itself is not accessible for wheelchair users.
